Process 1
Teacher draws 5 circles on the floor and asks
“What is it?”
“Circles” Teacher megaphones the answers into English.
How many circles are there?
Children count with the teacher
1,2,3,4,5
Teacher says and writes the numbers outside each circle
Shall we say the numbers one to five?
Children take turn and say the numbers.
When each child says one number, teacher directs him to occupy him to occupy his respective circles.
Now tell me, how many groups are there?
Yes, Five.
Who all are there in group number 1?
Good! What about the group number 2?
Teacher can also ask
Who all are in group 5?
Who all are in group 4?
Who all are in group 3?
Very good! Now I Shall give something to each group.
Teacher distributes pictures of 1. cat, 2. dog, 3. cow, 4. goat and 5. ant to each group.
Children,
‘Now group 1, Can you make the sound of your animal?’
Children (group 1) mews.
Teacher asks the other groups,Children,can you say which animal it is?
‘Yes it is a cat.’
Teacher repeats the same process for group 2, 3, and 4.
Teacher interacts with group 5 and asks,
Now group 5, Show your picture to your friends. Do you know what it is?
‘Yes, it is an ant.’
Ok, How do the ants walk?
‘Yes, in lines, don’t they?’
Can you show how the ants walk?
Group 5 walks like ants.
Teacher invites all the other children to join group5.
All the children walk like ants one behind the other.
VE: Children colour the animals and get familiar with the names of the animal
